Roofing Cost FAQ

Answers to common questions about CostArchitect roofing calculators, estimate accuracy, included and excluded costs, local quotes, and methodology.

Are CostArchitect estimates contractor-ready quotes?

No. Estimates are planning ranges. Use them to compare assumptions before requesting itemized local bids.

What do the low, average, and high ranges include?

They include visible calculator assumptions such as roof area, material or service type, pitch, access, and state context. Each calculator page lists included and excluded items.

Why can a contractor quote differ from the calculator?

Final quotes can change because of hidden deck repair, flashing details, permit fees, disposal, structural issues, tax, warranty choices, and local scheduling.

How should I compare roof quotes?

Use the same area, material, tear-off, underlayment, permit, disposal, flashing, cleanup, and warranty assumptions for every contractor.

Where do calculator assumptions come from?

The methodology page explains formula structure, source categories, source notes, update rhythm, and limitations.

Can CostArchitect connect me with roofers?

Lead capture is limited. Use the contact page for support or estimate interpretation, and contact licensed local roofers for urgent or final work.
